Herbs, Vegetables, Fruits, Unusual Edibles, Wild Edibles
Vegetables, fruits, herbs, and even edible “weeds” and edible houseplants can contribute variety and taste to a healthy lifestyle.
In my youth I had the experience of helping (although usually reluctantly) in the family garden. I later raised peppers to sell to the local food co-op. I graduated from Utah State University in Ornamental Horticulture with the plan to be a landscape designer. Later I realized that I loved teaching people how to garden through classes and individual coaching sessions.
While working for other companies and now in my own business I have consulted with hundreds of clients and designed, planted, and maintained such diverse gardens as herb, flower, native, and show gardens for individuals, businesses, and gardens open for public use.
The past few years I have taught classes including: Organic Gardening, Herb Gardening, Composting, Organic Lawn Care, Gardening In Survival Times, Wild Edible Plants, and Square Foot Gardening.
What About Herbs? Growing & Using Herbs came about because I wanted to write an herb book that I would want. I think you will enjoy it also. Reconnecting with Kathy Wilson gave me the opportunity to write Herbs to Know 2: Wild Medicinal & Edible Plants and Herbs to Grow. Visit my book section for more information or to purchase. Please connect with me for updates including the release of a recipe book for cooking with herbs and a wild edible plant card set.
Gardening season or not? You can learn to grow your own food and tend your yard. Don’t have a yard? Learn to grow food in your apartment, condo, etc.
