Cool season herbs : herbs that can handle cool weather can be planted during March in many areas including my zone 6 garden. This year I may have to move some snow out of the way if it doesn’t melt within the next few days.
This cilantro was planted last fall. I was able to harvest some before frost last year and although it is a little flat due to snow cover it will spring back up and I should be able to harvest it for awhile before the heat of summer. I will be starting some more cilantro to take its place.
Parsley, dill, fennel, lovage, chives, garlic chives, chervil, arugula are some other herbs that can handle some frost so even though you may not think it is warm enough you can plant them outside and get them growing before hot weather hits.
