Forcing Bulbs

What is forcing bulbs?

Forcing bulbs is getting bulbs to bloom out of season. These can be grown indoors and can be a great way to brighten up the house during the winter. Forcing bulbs are also used for Easter, Mother’s Day, and other holidays and occasions. If you want to force bulbs you do need to plan ahead.
If you can still find bulbs such as tulips, daffodils, and crocus for sale in stores you can force them to bloom indoors while you are waiting for the return of Spring.
Flowering bulbs can add color, scent, and pleasure to the indoors in wintertime IF you plan ahead.  They also make great gifts!
It is a good idea to plan ahead if you want to force bulbs since most bulbs take several weeks to force plus the bulbs are only available for purchase a few weeks during the year.
